Interesting Facts: This tall plant can be easily identified by the "wings" on the stem. The plant is a good indicator of alluvial (deposited by water) soils. Thus this plant appears mostly along the Deer Lick Run Creek and on both sides of the road, which is also a floodplain for the Ohio River.
