Interesting Facts: This common spring wildflower can be found throughout the deep woodland areas of the preserve. The genus name comes from the Greek word geranos meaning "crane." The "crane-like" fruiting structure is designed so seeds are held in individual catapults which can be triggered by fluctuations in humidity.
