Interesting Facts: This delicate wildflower occurs in one small population within the preserve. All members of the Genus Scutellaria (Skullcaps) have an upper lip that makes the plant look like it is "wearing" a Roman Soldier's Helmet. Unlike other members of the mint family, this species has little or no odor when crushed.
