Interesting Facts: The seeds of this plant are a favorite among many species of birds and small mammals. It is very similar in form and habit to many other species of chickweed that occur in the preserve, but can be differentiated by its relatively large, star-shaped flowers. This species occurs throughout the deeper woodland areas of the preserve.
