Interesting Facts: The alternative common name "Jewelweed" for this plant is such because the leaves of this plant appear silver when placed under water. The given common name "Touch-Me-Not" refers to the bluish-brown seeds which "pop" at the slightest touch when mature. The juice of this plant is rumored to stop itching of stinging nettle and poison ivy although not all agree this is the case.
