Interesting Facts: This native member of the mint family occurs in localized populations in wet soils along the Deer Lick Run Creek. It is pollinated primarily by long-tongued bees that seek nectar in its deep tubular flowers. The bitter foliage acts as a deterrant to foraging mammals.
