Interesting Facts: This delicate spring wildflower occurs in a single, sparse population in a deep woodland area of the preserve. This plant is endangered or threatened in many Eastern states. It's incredible beauty makes it one of the most sought after plants in the Eastern Deciduous Forest. Overpicking and destruction of habitat have signigicantly reduced the population of this plant.
