Interesting Facts: This plant is NOT considered a wildflower, but rather it occurs as an erect woody shrub, a trailing shrub running along the ground, or a woody vine. It appears throughout the preserve, but can be found in large populations along the streambanks. The toxic Urushiol is transmitted through touch, yielding painful blisters after a matter of hours. The Urushiol can be easily washed away with cool water and soap.
