Interesting Facts: This plant is so abundant in one portion of the preserve, that the Trillium Valley Trail was named in it's honor. This beautiful wildflower is one of the most recognized species of the spring wildflower season. The seeds of this plant have an oil that that aids in seed dispersal by attracting ants to take them back to their nest. As with all other Trillium species, this one occurs in the rich woodland soils of the preserve.
