Interesting Facts: The unique blossom on this plant is designed to attract ants for pollination. The common name of this plant is derived from the flowers which look like upside down dutchmans pants. Its cousin, Squirrel Corn (Dicentra canadensis) has almost identical foliage, but can be differentiated by the heart-shaped flowers. Dutchmans Breeches can be found spread throughout the woodland areas of the preserve.
