Interesting Facts: This common wildflower occurs throughout the deep woodland areas of the preserve. It is similar to the Cream Violet (Viola striata), but tends to grow taller, and has a bit of yellow in the center of the flower. Caution!!! the rhizomes, fruits and seeds of this plant are poisonous and may cause severe stomach and intestinal upset.
